Regional evidence
Yorkshire Water’s May 2026 drainage plan records about 53,000 kilometres of sewers, 2,633 wastewater pumping stations, 601 treatment works and roughly 1.3 billion litres collected, treated and returned each day. Those regional figures explain the network’s scale; they do not determine who owns a particular pipe.
